Neuroplasticity - a Story of Hope

Dear Karen

INFINITY SIGN – LAZY EIGHT (my favourite)

I would like to advise how this tool has benefited my clients.
I work predominantly with school children, however I do from time to time get involved with adults and particularly elderly people. The products your company are supplying is fantastic and I like to use them with my students and Alzheimer patients.

Let me give you feedback on the Lazy-eight board. I used this with my mother who is in advanced stage Alzheimer. Every time she traced the eight, I managed to get her to bemore verbal, as it activates the brain as she crosses the midline. It so happened that she had a stroke about eighteen months ago. This left her paralysed on the left side of her body. Her speech became more challenged as the mouth drooped to the left.

I managed to do body movements with her and gave her the lazy-eight board to trace the figure eight. I only did this once after the stroke. Later that week, I received a call from the Charge Sister, requesting me to come to the Frail Care Centre. On arrival she remarked “your mother had us in a state last night; she walked down this passage”. I could not believe what I was hearing. On entering her room, I found her sitting up in her chair, a smile crossed her face as she looked at me. She was moving her left hand and the paralysis from the stroke was gone. I discussed this later with a doctor friend of mine, who confirmed that this was like a reversed stroke.

This has proven to me that the neuroplastisity of the brain is capable of restoring itself, given the movement education of the body. Your boards are invaluable! I look forward to increasing my stock demand, so that I can assist not only my students but other clients as well.

To you and your team, THANK YOU for the awesome products you have on offer. Your products need to be made available to the world!
Yours truly
